WHO WE ARE

MY STORY

As a young woman, I enjoyed a fortunate existence. My parents were devoted and provided both love and support. I received an excellent education and pursued a fulfilling career in fine art and investment. However, it was only after my divorce that I realized I had willingly surrendered control of my financial destiny. Despite my capabilities, I allowed my then “prince charming”, who turned out to be a frog, to manage certain aspects of my life. The consequence was a sense of aimlessness, akin to drifting at sea without a rudder. It was at this point that I recognized the need to take charge of both my finances and my life.

Embarking on an enlightening journey into the realm of financial planning through education and personal experience, I discovered that the more financially empowered I became, the more positively every facet of my life transformed. This realization marked the onset of my readiness to pursue the career I was meant for.

Fast forward to today eighteen years in the financial industry and a financial advisor to women, I observe countless women following a similar trajectory; entrusting crucial financial decisions to others despite being perfectly capable themselves. Many, absorbed in their careers and families, eventually find themselves divorced or alone, unprepared to navigate the complexities of their finances and investments. Witnessing this pattern, I felt compelled to instigate change.

I began by listening, understanding the challenges and fears these women faced and actively began engaging with them to impart the significance of financial planning. My aim was to empower them to comprehend and take control of how their money could work in their favor.

As a financial advisor, my purpose is to foster an environment where women are not only educated but also encouraged and empowered to make confident financial decisions that align with their unique life visions.

As a financial advisor and educator for women, I am committed to partnering with women on their life journeys. My journey began 35 years ago when I was unable to find unbiased financial advice. So, I returned to graduate school and completed a master’s degree in finance and soon thereafter the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program. I reasoned that if I needed to do this, other women needed the same assistance. This need resulted in the eventual creation of two private practices concentrating on women’s financial planning needs.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to foster a strong network of women who can learn from one another and create the value they yearn for in their lives. As an advisor, I seek to truly get to know my clients and create close relationships. By understanding their lifestyle, responsibilities and wishes for the future, together we tailor a financial strategy suited to their individual needs.

I am also a frequent speaker on financial and women’s issues as well as memorable sailing adventures. My family and I have been residents of HHP for three decades, and we feel lucky to continue being part of this community.
